this year

this year, i've been lucky enough: to have met some of the sweetest kindest people who have become great friends, to have met someone whom i've fallen in love with and to my greatest delight has fallen in love with me, to have been able to be stupid drunk foolish and young, to have explored a beautiful city. and i have been lucky enough to have laughed more in this past year than i've laughed in a real long time. hawaii, i will miss you--but not enough for me to truly care. and seattle, i love you.

things have been pretty bad lately.
however, today i got new shoes and a haircut.
tomorrow i will read 'The Death of Ivan Ilynch' for my upcoming philosophy of the mind class, clean up my life, and drink alone on new years eve night.

this year included: 3 whole presents from the parents (socks, a mug, and a sweater that i'm returning). a dramatic family moment in which my almond biscotti dough was thrown to the ground. now i'm going to go drink heavily at some shitty ex-hippies house.

...I have some, but talking to certain someones allows me to realize that I can't rely on habits and anxieties. Instead, I must rely on productivity--even on a minor scale, I have to keep busy.

So, as a result: I will be industriously reading, sewing, drawing, cooking, and watching good film.
